The Order of the RoseOrder of the Rose The Order of the Rose is a Company within Terrasylvae that focuses on rapier-style fencing. and Company of Broderers are joining up to host a sides-making day! If you would like to have your own buckler or death stick in your armory, then don’t miss this event.

We will be meeting at Kane’s home to use his workshop to personalize your sides. Contact Shay by July 10th to sign up for making a buckler and/or death stick, and we will gather your supplies into a kit for you to make at the event the following weekend.

A buckler will be $10, and a deathstick is $5. Please try to pay Shay when you sign up, so she won’t have to hunt you down later. Paints and tapes will be available at the event for you to personalize your sides.

Important: This event will be outside only. Masks are requested, but not required. We will remain in the garage and driveway, and Kane’s house will not be open for any use. Come and go as you need, but we will be cleaning up at 3pm. Please don’t show up at 2:45pm wanting to get your projects made. Thanks for understanding!

What you should bring:

  • Bring your sword or weapons you want a deathstick for.
  • Have an idea of what simple shape you want your buckler to be- you’ll have a 12″ x 12″ square to work with.
  • Bring your own decorating supplies (if desired)
  • Fencing Mask to paint (if desired)

    • A death stick is the group’s name for rigid parrying device like a sheath. In the case of this event, we’re cutting and fitting PVC pipe to match people’s swords and then wrapping them in hockey tape. That way people can have a sturdy sheath for storage that doubles as a defensive side at fencing.
