Company of Broderers is hitting off the season with a neat opportunity to learn about patterns from Melonie! (For those who don’t know, she is a very talented seamstress in our group who does a lot of costuming and has her own Etsy shop.) She is going to be teaching about the basics of patterning, and she’ll assist individuals in patterning their own pieces of garb. Whether you have a vision of a specific piece you want to make, or you have a store-bought sewing pattern you want to custom fit or alter, she’s sure to have good insight to help you. Even if you don’t sew, come and get some ideas, make a pattern if you like, and then if needed you can reach out to Miren afterward for assistance in finding someone to help you get your project made. This activity was a very generous offer from Melonie, so come take advantage of it! You don’t want to miss out.

Materials Needed

  • Pencil
  • Ruler or measuring tape
  • Pattern ideas- this could be a specific pattern you want altered, or if you just have an idea you want to explore you can bring a drawing or written description of it
