Hey so I have this idea that I want to write about a fire in woodland. If there was a fire in the village what would our response be? What would you do? (also are you interested in being part of this story?)

That sounds like an interesting story!

What would they do in the medieval times? Did the villagers put out the fires or would they run grab the knights? I doubt they had an official firefighter squad back then.

Running to the garrison for help would probably take up too much time. Is this our first fire or have we learned from a few past fires to make precautions (barrels of water or something about, fire drills to help put a fire out, etc)? Is the village by any water?

Yeah I was going to say water location is definitely a consideration. I imagine a village with a well would be everyone's first stop to get buckets of water. On the other hand if the water source is a river outside of the village, I don't think they're would be much hope of putting out the fire.

Maybe convince one of the magical creatures in the realm to help?? A water sprite? If there isn't enough water or water that is close enough that is

I figured there would be wells and troughs for horses. Also I have a grinding stone in my bakery so I assumed it was close to small river of some sort.

I think being half soldiers and half commoners we would know how to react to danger. I imagine bucket lines being commanded by the powers that be. I think we could handle a small fire with a lot of work.
