As you fence, you can get a sense of what your opponent might do or something you would hope to accomplish yourself. Why would you wait to prepare for these anticipated events? Take preemptive action and get a head start on anything you’re hoping to accomplish. It may be a block, a sneak attack, and or just a step offline. It can save you time and get a chance to better prepare for what’s coming.
